  • A study that was recently conducted by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), reported that individuals that drank alcohol after a meal that included fat, protein, and carbohydrates absorbed the alcohol at a rate that was three times slower than if they consumed alcohol on an empty stomach.
