  • A recent government conducted medical study indicates that people with a variant of the DRD2 gene (a gene associated with dopamine function in the brain) may be more prone to receive pleasure from drinking; since this gen merely relates to the pleasure associated with drinking, this research cannot conclude that DRD2 causes alcohol dependence.
