Caffeinated Alcoholic Beverages (CILs) are premixed beverages that combine alcohol, caffeine, and other stimulants. They may be malt- or distilled-spirits-based and usually have higher alcohol content than beer (i.e., 5%-12% on average for CILs and 4%-5% for beer). The caffeine content in these beverages is usually not reported.
The use of alcohol in men and women causes a greater increase in sexual desire, but decreased sexual performance.
Studies suggest that alcohol use by peers is a strong indicator of adolescent use of alcohol.
Even very small amounts of alcohol can reduce coordination, slow reflexes and lead to boisterous and overconfident behavior.
